Tshikululu announces Serious Social Investing Conference 2016

26 February 2016 | Opinion

As South Africa’s premier showcase of corporate social investment, the annual Serious Social Investing (SSI) Conference has become a highlight on the business calendar. Now in its seventh year, the event aims to inspire top business leaders and local companies to drive real socio-economic transformation in both the public and private sector, thereby enriching and uplifting the lives of thousands of people in rural communities across South Africa.

This year, the theme of the SSI Conference is Conscious Capitalism, an approach that focuses on building a more conscious way of doing business by marrying business philosophy with integrity, authenticity and ethical values. In this way, healthy, resilient and sustainable companies are created whilst simultaneously giving back to society. Conscious Capitalism challenges businesses to rethink why their organisations exist, how they do business, and to acknowledge their roles in the interdependent global marketplace.

Why should you attend?

Targeted at Social Investment, transformation, compliance and governance managers, top business leaders, industry stakeholders and CEOs, the two-day event will feature a world-class line-up of inspirational and informative addresses by local and international thought leaders, and experts in the social development space. Engaging panel discussions and master-class sessions will enable one-on-one interactions with fellow industry peers, practical learning and unique networking opportunities. Delegates will learn how to create a tactile business culture built on transparency, integrity, learning and empowerment. This will include a focus on how to view suppliers as partners, and the best way to re-invest in the community to simultaneously build brand loyalty, create long-term sustainability and improve profits.
