Background
Established in 1998, Tshikululu is a social investment fund manager and advisor, working alongside investors and other development partners to maximise the power of social investment. We define social investment as any financial commitment – from grant-making to impact investing – that seeks to drive and measure social impact.

Over the past two decades, we have operated in every province in the country, covering urban and rural areas, and collaborated with social investors in various sectors including mining, financial services, renewable energy, property development, banking, insurance, healthcare and logistics.

Rationale and Deliverables
Tshikululu seeks to engage a dynamic and highly skilled service provider to render editing services.
The service provider is to provide the following services:
- Review documents for grammar, spelling, and punctuation according to the Tshikululu Style Guide.
- When reviewing reports or other documents; provide fact-check dates, numbers and wording for accuracy.
- Quality Assure the report to assess the following:
- Assess the tone, structure and flow of the report to ensure coherency.
- Assess whether the themes (thematic synthesis/analysis) being drawn from reports are in alignment with what has been communicated.
- Make corrections and suggest edits to the document.
- Ensure the design, layout and formatting of work are in line with the Tshikululu Style Guide.
- Meet editing deadlines; and communicate on delivery, timelines and feedback.
Tshikululu has a house style, and the successful candidate would be expected to follow and help uphold the house style, as set out in the Tshikululu Style Guide.
Tshikululu will require the service provider to render services throughout the year, however, peak periods take place in quarterly cycles, as we prepare client board packs. The editor will need to be available for ad-hoc work outside of peak periods. An annual editing calendar will be shared with the service provider, but it is subject to significant changes based on client demands.
Please note that Tshikululu works in a dynamic environment where last-minute scheduled changes take place frequently. Therefore, we require a service provider who can provide flexibility, accommodate schedule changes, and take on work with short turnaround times at short notice.
